about

Can you imagine Frank Zappa playing punk metal jam-session with Wattie Buchan (The Exploited)?
The history of Pansament (Bandage) goes back to 1987-1988. Gathering together musicians with different grade of musical experience and different preferences, Pansament was one of the very few and first real noisy punk, rock and metal bands from Romania under Ceausescu's dictatorial communist regime.
It's impossible to tell, difficult to explain, but 1987-1989 were darker than the darkest middle age in Romania and playing rock music was consider a direct treat to the system. In fact even those who lived those years now almost forgot how rough it was...
Pansament make the national breakthrough after the fall of Ceausescu's regime and along with Tectonic were the pioneers of the new Romanian rock wave bringing the underground to the surface and open the way to the mainstream for many other bands.
Most of these recordings where made in Ernst Hubner's basement where the band rehearsed along the years, so these are really noisy-crunchy pieces of history.
Pansament with Tectonic were the first two Romanian bands releasing a split EP for the Western market called "Revolutie?" in 1993 under the French label Tian An Men'91 Records, actually it was the first release of this label and it's a collector's delicatessen.
Pansament featured with "Punk Ain't Dead" and "Chain Gang", both available now on this collection.
Pansament played gigs all over Romania and released more than 10 videos at Romanian National Television (TVR 1).
Maybe it looks like digging out the dead, but I'm still proud of all the things I did since 1987.

Mr. Pan[k]sament Romania

I ended up at the microphone of a garage punk-rock band back in 1988 by mistake and fortune, and ever since, I've been "doing" music one way or another with different bands, projects or on my own. I played piano, bass, and some drums and learned to work with computers, samplers, and midi controllers.
I use Propellerhead's Reason, an Alesis keyboard, an Oxygen 8 midi-controller and the Reaper.
